Some pages require a ton of content but still want to achieve fast loading times and prevent too much clutter. A great way to address this problem is with an accordion layout, which will display a defined set of content, keeping other sections hidden behind a given link or element that can be selected to display its corresponding material. I find this especially useful when designing sites for bloggers and other clients who have lots of written material but want a nice and simple look that doesn’t necessitate a bunch of scrolling. Developers4Web seems to keep its extensions pretty simple, and I’ve been able to use this extension without any coding issues whatsoever.
The interface for designers is great, with straightforward input fields and no fussy dialog boxes or confusing jargon. Installing the extension for use with Dreamweaver is a snap, as well. I don’t think you can argue with the price on this product, as it’s a free offering. Plenty of content management systems offer a quick solution for making accordions, but if you’re putting a site together from scratch, being able to add this to your design arsenal free of charge is an opportunity on which you should definitely cash in. Easy to use, easier to afford, and able to create slick pages.
