I first decided to use this helpful extension during a difficult design project focusing on academic papers and concepts that included a lot of esoteric words. The glossary function provided a way for the client to deliver all the accurate technical information they needed to publish without alienating their visitors with obscure language; the extension creates a simple, elegant window over a word or other page element that you can fill with an explanation or the content of your choice. This is a great extension for reference sites or projects that get a bit technical, but can also be used in a number of creative applications.
There’s not much technical knowledge required to get started with this extension, which is a bit ironic given its use. Right out of the box, you can work with defining the pairs you for which you want to create a glossary entry. You can set all of the parameters to allow for associated content of a wide variety of lengths, formats, and types, and if you get into the code a bit you’ll be able to make some very nice visual customizations. The drag and drop options look great and add an extra dimension of functionality to the glossary entries.
This extension takes the very basic concept of the roll-over image and turns it into a great multi-functional tool that most designers will love. Very fair price, very nice design, very recommended.
