Audio on pages is sometimes seen as uncouth, but I find plenty of room for adding audio on a variety of sites that I create. Many users appreciate having a “read-along” option for long text pieces, or may enjoy having a recorded greeting from a site owner or author when reading their biography. And it’s also sometimes appropriate to insert a song or simple sound for a particular object. This extension will seamlessly solve audio insertion woes, as it creates a one pixel by one pixel flash movie that begins playing audio when an associated image is touched by the cursor (the audio begins playing immediately and will be downloaded as it plays, allowing for playback without delays).
The interface on this extension is just as it should be for a basic function; there aren’t any confusing options or bizarre code inputs. All you really have to do to get the audio inserted is point to the audio file itself, and either choose one of the available “speaker” images or select one of your own, and define where the element should be placed. If you can code this yourself, the price may not be quite worth it for this product, but then again, that may be true of anything. If you don’t want to meddle with code view but you’d like to add an elegant way to put audio on pages, this is a good extension to have.
