There are a lot of gimmicky ways to open up new windows in sites, but there are also a few that look nice and don’t present site visitors with obnoxious manipulations and visual tricks. A soft window open, in my opinion, is one of the classier ways to present image enlargements, more information boxes, and similar elements on a page, and this extension offers a quick and painless way to get the effect whenever appropriate. The soft window opens starting at the top left-hand corner of the screen and “animates” towards growing to the defined size, resulting in a smooth, sleek introduction of a picture, form, or block of text.
With this extension, you can set the size of the window that will open (along with its url, of course), fill in the basic properties, and set various options such as whether the site visitor will be able to resize the window, whether scrollbars and status bars should appear, and so on. Set up of the extension itself as well as the window effect is problem-free, and doesn’t take a very extensive programming knowledge. If you’re new to design or you simply don’t like messing with code, this affordable extension lets you add a professional touch in just a few seconds.
