The insertion of videos onto sites is one of the most frequent requests I get as a designer, and I've had a serious need for a product that can streamline this process for a while. I purchased Dreamweaver Video Installer with the hope that it'd do the trick, and for the most part, this is the case. Working with videos from both external sites and local files, the extension lets you add a movie to a given page with a few clicks via a very simple and easily navigable dialog box.
Site visitors will obviously need to have certain components installed on their browser or hard disk to enable proper viewing depending on the video type. The range of support for external sites is fairly comprehensive, covering major portals like YouTube and Vimeo as well as less popular sites like Brightcove. The only complaint I can really make about this extension is its lack of support for Flash movies, as an all-in-one tool capable of handling whatever video formats may come would be nice. But if you don't work with Flash very often, this shouldn't present much of a problem.
Even without Flash support, the price on this extension is pretty low, and is easily justified through the time saved in manually inserting video files in bulk. Basic, useful, and recommended.
