If you find in our database an extension that in your opinion deserves a different description, or any other changes in the listing, including the download URL, please post the desired changes as Comments under the extension in question. All comments are subject to moderation, and we will modify the listings where appropriate. Remember that all descriptions should answer the question "What does it do?" and refrain from any subjective evaluations such as "nice", "awesome", "easy to use", etc. Such qualifications are only allowed in the Comments, but not in the Listings, which should remain neutral.
At this time, our database contains 672 active extensions and 643 extensions without a working link. Because there are so many of "dead" extensions, we decided to separate them HERE. If you find there an extension that YOU wish to move to the active side, simply post a comment under it, with the correct URL and any other appropriate changes.
Here’s an extension with a fairly unique angle. While it might not be especially useful for creating sites, this easily accessible “what you see is what you get” editor is great for letting clients make small modifications to a site, such as specific content details, wording, or basic color, without going deep into the code or permanently modifying anything. This can be a great tool for designers when presenting the initial mock-up for a site or even after the finished product has been delivered and only minor requested tweaks need to be made.
I also sometimes use the extension to show people how a site might look with a slightly different scheme, font, or orientation, without worrying about keeping multiple sample files saved and at the ready. There’s a basic server PHP installation requirement, and users will need to set writing permission to allow the extension to work properly, but any extra configuration ends there.
A favorite feature is the ability to define editable areas on a page, to make collaboration with clients and partners as easy and worry-free as possible. In short, nothing can go horribly wrong, because there simply isn’t the option to mess with anything you set as off-limits, but you can also get quality editing work completed with this tool. As I use this with nearly every design client for every project, the price is negligible. Overall, this is a great tool with the potential to save many, many headaches for designers.
