If you find in our database an extension that in your opinion deserves a different description, or any other changes in the listing, including the download URL, please post the desired changes as Comments under the extension in question. All comments are subject to moderation, and we will modify the listings where appropriate. Remember that all descriptions should answer the question "What does it do?" and refrain from any subjective evaluations such as "nice", "awesome", "easy to use", etc. Such qualifications are only allowed in the Comments, but not in the Listings, which should remain neutral.
At this time, our database contains 672 active extensions and 643 extensions without a working link. Because there are so many of "dead" extensions, we decided to separate them HERE. If you find there an extension that YOU wish to move to the active side, simply post a comment under it, with the correct URL and any other appropriate changes.
This is one of my all-time favorite extensions for impressive design. While Dreamweaver is capable of doing all sorts of tricks and acrobatics with images, it’s not always fun to dig in and modify everything on your own. Thumbnails Viewer lets you select a given element on a page (usually a picture of some sort) and create an enlarged or alternate image that pops up upon scroll-over. This is a great way to save on load times and bandwidth on heavy pages by using small images and still letting visitors catch a glimpse of the full size without having to navigate away from the page. It’s been wildly popular among my design clients.
An especially nice element of this extension is that it’s virtually mess-free; there’s no meddling with server-side stuff or intensive modifications or directory creations. This makes it ideal for pages that have a lot of thumbnails, as repeating the process for inserting a thumbnail enlargement only takes a few seconds. A fairly simple interface helps to cut down on the time commitment even more, and I haven’t run into a single bug during use, which can be especially rare for image-intensive extensions. I think the cost on this is more than reasonable and recommend it for anyone working with lots of pictures.
